Privacy Act of 1974; Matching Program

Summary

In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) are providing notice of a new computer matching program. Under this program, SSA will disclose Social Security Number (SSN) verifications to the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) through HUD to verify Borrowers' eligibility to participate in FHA's Single Family mortgage insurance programs. The matching program will enable HUD to verify Social Security numbers and related identifying information submitted by individuals applying for FHA-insured mortgage programs.
